Challenges

Diversity of Topics and Sub-fields: Psychology encompasses numerous sub-fields (clinical, cognitive, social, etc), creating complexity in structuring the curriculum. The frameworks used for these courses categorized topics into coherent modules while allowing for cross-references.

Accessibility Considerations: All courses in SLU required consideration in respect to ADA best practices. Since psychology courses often involved ADA practices on themselves, the material provided a good time for students to learn through gamified experiences that simulated these impairments and presented them from the point of view of a student in such a position.

Cultural and Ethical Sensibility: Addressing diverse perspectives and ethical implications relevant to psychological practices required collaborative efforts with experts to ensure that content addressed diversity appropriately.

Practical Application of Theoretical Knowledge: Bridging the gap between theory and real-world application in psychology. Include practical exercises, role-playing scenarios, and simulations to allow learners to apply theoretical knowledge in context.
